Summer Vacation

My stepdaughter was here visiting us for 12 days so the whole family went to St-Sauveur for a week. It rained just about everyday but we did manage to have a good time anyway. Here are a few photos from her visit and our vacation.

Watermelon

What is summer without watermelon? My nephew knows how to enjoy it.

Tips, Tricks, and Challenges. Challenge #3

For this challange we had to shoot a rural scene, an urban scene and a shot you would put in a tourist guide for your region. The bonus for this challange is a statue.

This is a rural shot from Vignoble de l'Orpailleur, a winerie about 30 min. from my house.

My urban shot is at the Toronto airport.

I have two tourist guide shots. I took these a while back but thought they were appropriate for this challange. I took these in the Old Port of Montreal where I work. I can always find something to shoot during my lunch breaks.

Statue of Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve, founder of Montreal.

I don't really have any great tips but trying to remember the rule of thirds when shooting scenery has helped me alot.

Pink rain boots

It's not everyday that I tell Chloe to put on her boots and go jump in that puddle. She kind of looked at me like maybe I had lost my mind. It had rained the night before and as usual there was a giant puddle in our driveway. She had a great time and I got some nice shots.

Family Reunion

Patrick's annual family reunion was on Saturday. Unlike the past two years it was a beautiful hot day and we were there until the wee hours of the morning. Chloe made a new friend, Marie-Claude, who is about 5 or 6 years older than she is. She followed that poor girl around the whole day. At one point she lost her and came to me crying. Together we went in search of her new friend and when we found her Chloe made me stop so that she could wipe her face on my shirt. She did not want her new friend to think she was a baby because she had been crying. It was like being hit by a Mack truck because it showed me exactly how much she has grown up. It seem she finds a way to break my heart every day. I love that kid so much!

New lens

I just got a new lens and I am loving it. It is the 50mm f1.8. It is a great little lens for the price. Super fast and the images are really sharp.

Growing Up

I have not posted many photos of Maxime. He is getting so big now and will soon be 5 months old. It seems like it is going so much faster than it did with Chloe, although when I look at her I do find it hard to believe she is already four. Here are a few of my favs of my beautiful baby boy.
