Summer Vacation

My stepdaughter was here visiting us for 12 days so the whole family went to St-Sauveur for a week. It rained just about everyday but we did manage to have a good time anyway. Here are a few photos from her visit and our vacation.

Watermelon

What is summer without watermelon? My nephew knows how to enjoy it.

Tips, Tricks, and Challenges. Challenge #3

For this challange we had to shoot a rural scene, an urban scene and a shot you would put in a tourist guide for your region. The bonus for this challange is a statue.

This is a rural shot from Vignoble de l'Orpailleur, a winerie about 30 min. from my house.

My urban shot is at the Toronto airport.

I have two tourist guide shots. I took these a while back but thought they were appropriate for this challange. I took these in the Old Port of Montreal where I work. I can always find something to shoot during my lunch breaks.

Statue of Paul Chomedey de Maisonneuve, founder of Montreal.

I don't really have any great tips but trying to remember the rule of thirds when shooting scenery has helped me alot.

Pink rain boots

It's not everyday that I tell Chloe to put on her boots and go jump in that puddle. She kind of looked at me like maybe I had lost my mind. It had rained the night before and as usual there was a giant puddle in our driveway. She had a great time and I got some nice shots.

Family Reunion

Patrick's annual family reunion was on Saturday. Unlike the past two years it was a beautiful hot day and we were there until the wee hours of the morning. Chloe made a new friend, Marie-Claude, who is about 5 or 6 years older than she is. She followed that poor girl around the whole day. At one point she lost her and came to me crying. Together we went in search of her new friend and when we found her Chloe made me stop so that she could wipe her face on my shirt. She did not want her new friend to think she was a baby because she had been crying. It was like being hit by a Mack truck because it showed me exactly how much she has grown up. It seem she finds a way to break my heart every day. I love that kid so much!

New lens

I just got a new lens and I am loving it. It is the 50mm f1.8. It is a great little lens for the price. Super fast and the images are really sharp.

Growing Up

I have not posted many photos of Maxime. He is getting so big now and will soon be 5 months old. It seems like it is going so much faster than it did with Chloe, although when I look at her I do find it hard to believe she is already four. Here are a few of my favs of my beautiful baby boy.

Magog

Pat and I took the kids over to Magog on Sunday. We took a boat tour of the lake. I had never been there before and had no idea how beautiful the lake was. We will be going back soon. Chloe even got to steer the boat for a while.

Old Port

I went and had lunch with the girls at work last week and took Chloe and Max along. The Old Port is such a great place for taking photos.

Fort Chambly

I took Chloe and Max to the park around Fort Chambly on Friday. The day was absolutly beautiful and I was hoping to get some great photos but I messed up the settings on my camera and only came home with a few good ones. It was still a great day. Chloe loves going on picnics and we had a great time spending the day together playing. We visited the fort and checked out the rapids on the Richelieu river. Chloe met a little squirrel who was not the least bit afraid and would eat out of our hands. I think she would have give him her entire lunch if I would have let her.

Yellow sunglasses

We went shopping on Sunday afternoon and Chloe found these terrific new sunglasses.

Weekend in Mont Tremblant

We took a short trip to Mont Tremblant this past weekend. We had a great weekend except for a little rain. The view from the chalet was beautiful and Chloe had an especially good time when we took the kids to a small amusement park. She got to meet Cinderella and Snow White who are two of her most favorite princesses.
